While we all know how devastating fire can be, it is natural process that cleans our forests and revitalizes health plant life. Unfortunately, our efforts to stop fire at all costs has left our natural spaces overgrown with invasive vegetation, full of dead or dying trees, and susceptible to disease and infestation. Even around our own homes, the land we live in is all too often unhealthy, unsightly, or completely unusable. That is because one of the often overlooked aspects of living in a rural area, is the responsibility to properly manage the land around us. Traditional land management relies on teams of laborers or heavy equipment to cut up and tearing out unwanted vegetation, the application of pesticides and poisons, or the use of "Controlled Burns".
Cutting up and tearing out unwanted vegetation is brutally hard work, exceptionally costly, and very time consuming. It typically requires several people to cut out the old vegetation, remove it, and later dispose of it with a controlled burn, dumping it in a landfill, or mulching it in wood chipper. This then leaves stumps and stems which have to be torn out of the ground using heavy equipment. Unfortunately that process tears up the area in what is called "Maneuver Damage", where that machinery leaves tracks and ruts. In addition, the stumps and stems are usually torn from the ground by their roots, which disturbs the soil and typically results in erosion and dead spots.
Controlled Burns are extremely effective, cheap, and relatively quick. Unfortunately, controlled burns regularly get out of control and result in the most devastating of wildfires. In addition, controlled burns rely on favorable weather conditions and the absence of fire bans or high winds. Even when good conditions exist, controlled burns require constant supervision, fire control efforts, and they ALWAYS carry an unimaginable level of liability.
APEX Land Management offers services that mirror the natural benefits of a fire, but without all the harmful side effects. At the same time, we eliminate the need for large crews conducting dangerous and time consuming labor operations. At APEX, we have invested in some of the most efficient, advanced, and environmentally friendly equipment available. Our specialty machinery does everything we need with just one machine and one operator. A single Land Management package can simultaneously remove harmful vegetation, fell trees, mulch the material into fine shreds, and redeposit it back across the area. It removes invasive plant life that draws too much water, allowing the forest and other plants to get more moisture and draw more nutrients. This promotes healthy vegetation and a greater resistance to disease and harmful insects. Our machines rubber tracks reduce Maneuver Damage to almost nothing. The mulching process deliberately destroys invasive plants and harmful insect infestations. By cutting the unwanted vegetation down to ground level without ripping up the roots, we limit erosion and maintain soil integrity. The shredded vegetation we leave behind, re-fertilizes the soil through decomposition and the re-absorption of nutrients back into the earth. The shredded material also helps retain moisture which again stimulates healthy growth, benefits the wildlife habitation, and acts as a natural fire break

In the 1800's, our family joined the waves of adventurers and dreamers pushing west into the Rocky Mountains. Those early settlers hoped only to carve out a life for themselves and their families in the rugged Colorado wilderness. They risked their lives and left their homes behind, equipped with little more than a few hand tools and some farm animals. They had to rely primarily on hard work, determination, and perseverance to accomplish their goals. Looking back on those brave men and women, we often refer to them as "Pioneers". We marvel at the ideals that brought a ragtag group of immigrants from around the world to the same remote corner of our growing nation.
APEX is our modern reinvention of those same ideals. Our owners are not concerned with getting rich or making easy money. Rather, we built APEX on the dream of helping others carve out a life for themselves here in our cherished mountain communities. Using the same concepts of hard work, determination, and perseverance, we are prepared to recapture that pioneering spirit by helping you fulfill your dreams. Whether you are trying to tame a little wilderness around your yard, clear land for your dream home, or protect your family from the devastating effects of wildfires; we want to help. We have invested in best and most modern machinery available, saving you time and money. We use the most environmentally friendly techniques and safe practices so that you can enjoy your investment without worry.
